Greetings and happy Fourth of July! This week I am back in the district. If your group would like to contact me, please call the Homer office at 235-2921 to schedule a meeting as I am often on the road and may be heading back to Juneau at some point. I plan on participating in Fourth of July events around Homer and Anchor Point tomorrow, and Wednesday I will be on KBBI’s Coffee Table; tune in at 9 am for a discussion of the state’s budget challenges.

Although passing the operating budget is a step in the right direction, the legislature has not adopted a responsible action plan to address Alaska’s financial challenges. There is more work to be done for a long-term solution.
