Rep. Guttenberg’s May 30th Newsletter: What does a comprehensive, stable fiscal plan look like to you?

I would like to know what you think a comprehensive, stable fiscal plan looks like. The Senate Republican Majority’s current fiscal plan consists of budget cuts, spending limits, reduced PFD, and using our savings to fill the remaining deficit. In January, they attempted to garner support for their fiscal plan by surveying Alaskans’ views on k12 funding, broad-based taxes, and adjusting oil company tax credits.

Rep. Tuck’s May 30th Newsletter: Statewide Fiscal Survey

In January, the Senate Majority polled Alaskans on a variety of topics relating to Alaska’s budget situation. The results showed Alaskans favor a comprehensive fiscal plan that includes reducing tax credits for the oil and gas industry, a broad-based tax, and continuing to fully fund K12 education.

Rep. Spohnholz’s May 24th Newsletter: Special Session Update

The regular session is over and we have begun a special session dedicated to a fiscal plan for Alaska and legislation addressing opioid addiction . While I wish we had been able to finish this work in the regular session, these issues are important enough to deserve the extra effort to resolve them. There is no more important job of the legislature than to pass a solid fiscal plan.
