On Wednesday evening, the legislature adjourned without an agreement on a budget, a restructuring of the Permanent Fund, or revenue measures to address the state’s $2.7 billion deficit. Shortly after adjourning, the Governor called the legislature into a special session to continue our work.

JUNEAU – Today, the Alaska state Senate unanimously passed Representative Max Gruenberg’s legislation to allow Alaskans an inexpensive and efficient way to transfer property upon a person’s death without going through the long and cumbersome court probate process. The legislation now goes to the governor for his signature.
