Since the 28th Legislature convened on January 15, 2013, the Alaska State House has spent more

time chastising the federal government than working on any other issue (I agree that the federal government needs to be “checked” once in a while!). I am bothered that the legislature is spending huge amounts of time on issues that were already dealt with in previous bills and resolutions. If someone told me that this would happen, I would not have believed them.

First, who knew so many of you actually read our e-newsletter? Thank you for the response to last week’s poll. You’ve asked that I keep things pretty much the same, and that if the letter is a looooong one, I give you the skinny at the top in case you don’t have time to read all the details and facts. And this Saturday you are invited to give testimony to the Legislature on any topic you wish. “Anchorage Caucus” – a fancy term meaning your Anchorage legislators will be in town for you – will be held at the Loussac Library, Assembly Chambers, from 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
