Dear Neighbor,
Parents in our community have worked for years through the PTA and with school staff to fund design of a new Inlet View school and prepare for Inlet View to be on the 2022 School Bond package. At the 11th hour, the Superintendent has proposed pulling this project off the bond. The School Board is deliberating right now about what will be on the bond, and we all need to weigh in supporting Inlet View.
Inlet View is one of the oldest schools in the district. It is over capacity, with kids going to class in trailers. It doesn't have a safe entryway. This project needs to move forward, both for kids' education and to show our support for Principal Patricia Ahrens and all the outstanding teachers at Inlet View. Here's how you can support Inlet View:
1. Write to schoolboard@asdk12.org and explain to School Board members how important this project is to you and your family, and why it must be funded on the 2022 bond package.
2. If you're a South Addition resident or in the Inlet View school district, attend the Thursday, October 28th South Addition Community Council meeting and vote in support of a resolution to support funding for Inlet View. The meeting starts at 7pm on Zoom (Via this link).
This neighborhood supports our schools, our teachers, and our kids. We can't let this critical project be delayed or cancelled after so many parents and volunteers have brought it this far.
Thank you,
Zack & Tom
