TODAY: Zoom Call with
Sen. Begich & Rep. Fields
Dear Neighbor,
Please join Senator Begich and me for an informal Zoom call today at 2pm. We will provide an update on the legislative session and hope to answer any questions you may have. Please register in advance here.
On Monday, I wrote a letter to Anchorage Parks and Recreation to urge that illegal encampments around the Chester Creek and Coastal Trail corridors be cleared. As the snow clears and Alaskans look for ways to get outside, it is important to ensure the safety of and access to local trails for everyone to use. Thank you to the Anchorage Assembly for voting to pass a resolution asking the city to immediately notice, abate, and clean up homeless camps.
Thanks to a local property owner who worked with a veteran to create this mural in Fairview. If you want to stop by to check it out, it's at 10th and Hyder.
On Friday from 6-10pm, a virtual musical festival featuring more than a dozen local performers will be streamed. Performers include Pamyua, H3, Blackwater Railroad Company, Medium Build, Emma Hill presents Spenard Song Circle with Ava Earl & Jaybird Parkhurst, DJ Spencer Lee presents Jams for Fams, DJ Gre + Special guests making a huge impact during this time for our community. Since the production is free, concertgoers are encouraged to support the Food Bank of Alaska with donations. Thanks to sponsors Matson, TOTE Maritime Alaska, AFL‐CIO Alaska, the Building & Construction Trades Council of Southcentral Alaska, MTA, and all others involved in planning and execution. The concert can be streamed at ak4ak.com.
Please keep in touch,
Zack
