JUNEAU – Rep. Ivy Spohnholz saw her legislation to broaden Alaskans’ access to dental care pass the House floor today in a vote of 34-1. If passed, HB 111 will establish a special permit to allow experienced, Alaska-licensed dental hygienists to provide preventative oral health care to underserved populations.
JUNEAU – The expansion of telehealth during the COVID-19 pandemic has improved Alaskans’ health care access, and legislation introduced last month by Rep. Ivy Spohnholz seeks to build off these improvements with comprehensive telehealth access post-pandemic.

JUNEAU – Following a hearing in the House Labor and Commerce Committee, the committee co-chairs expressed their gratitude to the Alaska Congressional Delegation for their testimony and work on the recently passed Infrastructure Law.
In the House Special Committee on Ways and Means, we kicked off the 2022 legislative session with a series of hearings on the Governor’s 10-year fiscal plan and the impacts of his proposal.
The 2022 legislative session begins this Tuesday, January 18th. We will dive right into the Governor’s FY23 proposed budget, hearing bills, and other legislative business.
ANCHORAGE – The House Labor and Commerce Committee heard testimony on Wednesday afternoon from childcare providers who urged the rapid release of federal American Rescue Plan Act funding that is currently sitting unused.
ANCHORAGE – Today, the House Ways and Means Committee heard testimony from the Legislative Finance Division on Alaska’s financial situation, as well as proposals from lawmakers to close the budget deficit.
