Alaskans demand immediate government action to increase the Base Student Allocation (BSA) to increase K-12 funding and return to a Defined Benefits system for public employees, all while addressing the state’s structural deficit.
The House Education Committee will be hearing HB 65, the bill to increase the Base Student Allocation formula funding for education. Now is your chance to weigh in with public testimony, Tuesday 3/21, beginning at 5:15 PM.

On Tuesday the governor introduced two bills, and I have already received quite a bit of feedback about them. House Bill 105, SEX/REPRODUCTION EDUCATION; SCHOOLS, is a “parental rights in education” bill and HB 106, TEACHER RECRUITMENT; LUMP SUM PAYMENT, provides bonus pay to teachers.
