Juneau – Today, the Alaska House of Representatives unanimously passed legislation to formally name Alaska’s dating violence awareness and prevention requirements in honor of Bree Moore, whose tragic death in 2014 was the impetus to implement the requirements in Alaska just a year later. Alaska’s dating violence prevention efforts will now be known as “Bree’s Law.”

Juneau – The Alaska House Majority Coalition will hold a press availability Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m. to answer questions from reporters covering the 30th Alaska State Legislature. Participants will include Speaker of the House Rep. Bryce Edgmon (D-Dillingham), House Finance Committee Co-Chair Rep. Paul Seaton (R-Homer), House Special Committee on Fisheries Chair Rep. Louise Stutes (R-Kodiak), and House Armed Services Committee Co-Chair Rep. Scott Kawasaki (D-Fairbanks).

Juneau – Tonight, the Alaska House of Representatives passed legislation to early fund Alaska’s K-12 public education system. House Bill 287 prioritizes public education by advancing it from the normal budget process. The author of HB 287 is House Finance Committee Co-Chair Rep. Paul Seaton (R-Homer).
