Labor & Commerce Co-Chairs thank Alaska Congressional Delegation for work on Infrastructure Bill

JUNEAU – Following a hearing in the House Labor and Commerce Committee, the committee co-chairs expressed their gratitude to the Alaska Congressional Delegation for their testimony and work on the recently passed Infrastructure Law. Senator Lisa Murkowski, Senator Dan Sullivan, and Congressman Don Young made themselves available to speak on their work on the bill and help guide lawmakers on strategies for Alaska to capitalize on the federal funding made available through this legislation.

“I want to thank Senator Lisa Murkowski, Senator Dan Sullivan, and Congressman Don Young for their vision, hard work, and dedication to our state as they negotiated with their colleagues in Congress and the Biden Administration to provide as many infrastructure opportunities as possible for Alaska,” said Rep. Zack Fields (D – Anchorage). “Their generosity with their time today will prove invaluable as the State Legislature navigates a course to use this funding in the most effective way.”

“This bill shows how everyone benefits when we work together across aisles,” said Rep. Ivy Spohnholz (D – Anchorage). “Now it’s time to roll up our sleeves and get to work to ensure Alaska is well positioned to get our share of this generational infrastructure investment.”

This was one of a number of continuing committee meetings where the State Legislature will be briefed on the sideboards in place for the federal money available to Alaska. The hearing can be viewed in its entirety here.
