I can certainly say time has been flying at the Capitol, as I write this to you on the 81st day of the legislative session.
Before breaking into this week’s issues, I would like to remind you of your chance to call in tomorrow to testify on the operating budget for FY22.
Now that budget subcommittees are closed out, the House Finance Committee is opening public testimony on the operating budget. We would love for you to call in and provide feedback.
JUNEAU – The House of Representatives today passed a bill to protect a cemetery in Southeast Alaska where Unangax people, taken from their homes on the Pribilof Islands during World War Two, were placed in an internment camp.
Since our last newsletter, budget subcommittees have wrapped up. The next step is for the house finance committee to review the state budget and pass it out of committee for full review.
