‘To get important work done for Alaskans, we must work together’
JUNEAU – Rep. Geran Tarr (D-Anchorage) has formally joined the Alaska House Coalition, providing the caucus with a strong 21-member majority.
Speaker Stutes announced the move during a Coalition press conference on Thursday, and today Representative Tarr explained her decision: “To get important work done for Alaskans, we must work together. I am joining the Alaska House Coalition now because Speaker Louise Stutes has proven she will work with everyone to find compromise and move Alaska forward. She has been tireless in her efforts to build a strong coalition and work with me. I want Alaskans to know how hard-working she is and that her leadership is exactly what we need right now.”
“I’m pleased with Geran’s decision,” Speaker Stutes (R-Kodiak) said. “She’s a valued member of our team who brings experience, insight, and passion that will help shape and enact our priorities. Her contributions will be an asset as we move forward this session.”
