Legislature Votes Unanimously to Support Alaska’s EMS Providers

Juneau – Today, the Alaska Legislature unanimously passed a bill to allow emergency medical services (EMS) providers to recover additional costs for transporting Medicaid patients in Alaska. House Bill 176 makes a change in state law that will help EMS providers recover supplemental reimbursements from the Medicaid program, which currently serves over 200,000 Alaskans.

Greetings from Juneau on this 105th day of the session. Spring has definitely come to the capital city and legislators are anxious to get back home but the most contentious decisions are now in negotiation. The conference committees for both the operating budget HB 286, and SB 26 Approp Limit & Permanent Fund: Dividend; Earnings are formed, other members and I have been discussing priorities for our respective majority and minority caucuses….
