Rep. Spohnholz’s May 24th Newsletter: Special Session Update

The regular session is over and we have begun a special session dedicated to a fiscal plan for Alaska and legislation addressing opioid addiction . While I wish we had been able to finish this work in the regular session, these issues are important enough to deserve the extra effort to resolve them. There is no more important job of the legislature than to pass a solid fiscal plan.

Rep. Grenn’s May 24th Newsletter: Town Hall TOMORROW & Session Update

As you may have heard, the legislature is currently in the midst of a Special Session called by Governor Bill Walker. Unfortunately, we are now on Day 7 and the Senate has shown little willingness to meet or work on the items called for by the Governor. While this overtime has been very disappointing, I continue to work with colleagues on all sides, encourage productive dialogue, and do my best to keep us moving forward.
