Juneau – The Alaska House Majority Coalition will hold a special press availability Saturday to answer questions from reporters covering the 30th Alaska State Legislature. The press availability will be held 15 minutes after the conclusion of Saturday’s House Floor session.
Hello friends and neighbors in Juneau and across Alaska! The Legislative session is just a couple days away from day 90. We will certainly be going past that point, and I will continue to fight for Juneau’s interests as well as a responsible fiscal plan.
First off, I want to wish everyone a Happy Easter! Secondly, the agenda for this e-news is: an update on fisheries bills, followed by some Kodiak and Yakutat student artwork, and finally an update on budget issues.
As you can imagine, late-session events in Juneau are in full swing, and I’m afraid this week’s newsletter has to be brief. As I noted last week, the magnitude of the work we still need to accomplish this year will keep the Legislature in Juneau beyond the statutory 90-day limit that falls this Sunday. What we hope to achieve this session will create a major turning point in our young state’s history and, hopefully, put us on an upward trajectory for decades to come.
