Juneau – The Alaska House Majority Coalition will hold a press availability Tuesday morning. Participants will include the Speaker of the House Rep. Bryce Edgmon (D-Dillingham), Finance Committee Member Rep. David Guttenberg (D-Fairbanks), House Judiciary Committee Chair Rep. Matt Claman (D-Anchorage), and House Health and Social Services Committee Chair Rep. Ivy Spohnholz (D-Anchorage).

It’s been another great and exciting week here in the Capitol. We continue to work hard to find solutions to our fiscal crisis while keeping our state going in a positive direction. At this point in the session we’re seeing some of our ideas gaining traction. Our bills are advancing through the committee process on their way to the floor. Being a member of the new majority, I’m proud to see a number of my own bills moving forward.

Rep. Seaton’s February 6th Newsletter

Greetings from Juneau this 21st day of session. This week I took part in two panels focused on Alaska’s fiscal situation. The first, held by Alaska Common Ground, was nearly three hours long and included members of the House, the Senate, and the executive branch. All the panelists seemed to agree that we should act this year, but what that action would look like and how much of the fiscal problem it should address was not so unanimous.
