With the General Election just a month away, I join the Alaska Division of Elections and encourage all Alaskans to make sure they are registered to vote, update their voting information, and request their absentee ballot in advance if you choose to skip the polling booths on Election Day, Tuesday, November 8.
Election Day is November 8 and you have until Sunday, October 9, to make sure your voter registration is up-to-date. You can find a full list of candidates here.
Not sure where your polling place is? You can find it here or avoid the lines and vote early at the Fairbanks Division of Elections office, located at 675 7th Ave, starting on October 24.

On Saturday, October 1, I attended an all-day Fiscal Policy Summit sponsored by Alaska Common Ground. Subjects included: (1) Our Fiscal System and Deep Structural Deficit; (2) Impacts of Fiscal Solutions on Jobs and Incomes; (3) Oil and Gas Tax Credits; (4) Scenarios for Fiscal Solutions; (5) the Anchorage Economy; (6) the Case for Budget Cuts, and related topics.
