This Saturday, February 27, I will be in Anchorage for a public meeting of the Anchorage Legislative Caucus, and later that day for my regular update on the Legislature to my friends and neighbors in House District 23. This area includes South Midtown Anchorage and the Dimond Business District.
I’ve heard from almost 100 of you in the past few days opposing the proposed $60 million cut to the University of Alaska. These draconian cuts would greatly affect the way the university functions. They would cause hundreds of layoffs, severely hamper our research abilities, and have a massive impact on our local economy.

JUNEAU – The Anchorage Legislative Caucus will hold its mid-session public hearing in Anchorage on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Loussac Library in Anchorage. Representative Matt Claman (D-Anchorage) is the Democratic co-chair of the Anchorage Legislative Caucus. He will co-chair Saturday’s meeting with Representative Liz Vazquez (R-Anchorage), the Republican co-chair of the caucus.
