FAIRBANKS – Representative Scott Kawasaki (D-Fairbanks) is hosting another summer Picnic in the Park on Thursday, July 21, at 4 p.m. at Allridge Park on Wilson Street in south Fairbanks.
Since 2014, Rep. Kawasaki has hosted a series of picnics across the city to celebrate the more than 60 free public parks maintained by the Fairbanks North Star Borough.
“Our last picnic was a huge success,” said Rep. Kawasaki. “Thank you to everyone who took time out of your busy summer schedules to come together. I’m looking forward to the opportunity to meet with everyone in South Fairbanks and enjoy the community that makes Fairbanks such a great place to live.”
Rep. Kawasaki has worked with the Interior Delegation to secure money for many parks across Fairbanks including the South Davis Park complex, Pioneer Park upgrades, the Pioneer Museum, Growden Park and artificial turf fields at the Fairbanks Youth Soccer Complex.
Since he came into office in 2007, Rep. Kawasaki has championed healthy living and active lifestyles. He has authored numerous legislative citations celebrating local groups varying from the Fairbanks Co-Op Market to the Equinox Marathon.
