NEWS: Rep. Gara Responds to the Nuna Royalty Modification Approved by the Alaska Department of Natural Resources

JUNEAU – On Tuesday, the Alaska Department of Natural Resources approved a revised royalty modification for the proposed Nuna development on the North Slope. Late last year Rep. Les Gara (D-Anchorage) submitted detailed public comments about the proposed modification and asked for a review of the royalty modification by the administration of Governor Walker.

ADVISORY: House and Senate Democrats to Celebrate Roe v. Wade Anniversary and Discuss Women’s Health and Safety Legislation

JUNEAU – Several Democrats in the Alaska House and Senate will honor the 42nd anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision with a press conference Thursday, January 22 at the State Capitol. The Senators and Representatives will also announced their women’s issues agenda and discuss women’s health and safety legislation they plan to introduce during the first session of the new 29th Alaska Legislature.

NEWS: Legislation Introduced to Expand the Creamer’s Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge

JUNEAU – Today Rep. Adam Wool (D-Fairbanks) and Rep. Scott Kawasaki (D-Fairbanks) introduced legislation to expand the popular Creamer’s Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge in Fairbanks. House Bill 70 would add four state owned parcels to the popular recreation area. Rep’s Wool and Kawasaki both cited their personal experiences with the refuge as inspiration for sponsoring this bill.

NEWS: Rep’s Gara and Kawasaki Call for an Analysis of the Benefits of Selling the Money-Losing Kodiak Rocket Launch Complex

JUNEAU – Representative Les Gara (D-Anchorage) and Representative Scott Kawasaki (D-Fairbanks) are asking the Administration of Governor Walker to analyze the benefits of selling the state owned Kodiak Launch Complex.
