NEWS: Alaska National Guard Members, Rep. Tuck and Sen. Wielechowski to Discuss Legislation to Improve Functions Within the National Guard and Improve Employment Opportunities for Veterans

ANCHORAGE – Several retired members of the Alaska National Guard will be joined by Representative Chris Tuck (D-Anchorage) and Senator Bill Wielechowski (D-Anchorage) for a press conference Thursday to discuss the upcoming legislative session and a package of legislation focused on improving and strengthening the National Guard system in Alaska. They will also discuss legislation to expand opportunities for veteran employment. The press conference will be held at 11am on Thursday, January 15th at the Anchorage Legislative Office Building at 716 W 4th Avenue in Anchorage. The event will include Sgt. Jennifer Pastrick, Sgt. Melissa Jones, Lt. Col. Kenneth Blaylock, Rep. Tuck, Sen. Wielechowski, and Ric Davidge, Chairman of the Alaska Veterans Foundation. Copies of the proposed legislation will be available at Thursday’s press conference.
