Save Our Schools: Democratic Legislators to Host Public Hearing on Alaska EducationOpportunity for Alaskans to speak out for preschool, public school needs not currently addressed
JUNEAU – Today, Senate Democratic Leader Johnny Ellis (D-Anchorage) and House Democratic Leader Beth Kerttula announced their caucuses are hosting a public hearing to hear from Alaskans on education issues that need to be addressed in this legislative session. The public hearing will take place in the Capitol, and Alaskans will be able to participate via teleconference from their local Legislative Information Offices as well.
“Alaskans are passionate about making sure their children get the best education possible,” said Representative Harriet Drummond (D-Anchorage), who led the effort to organize the public hearing. “We want to make sure the Legislature hears from Alaskans about the value of public schools and early education.”
WHAT: S.O.S. Save Our Schools Public Hearing on Education in Alaska – The public is encouraged to come share its voice on Alaska’s public schools and early education.
WHEN: March 25, 2013, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
