Constituent Survey Results

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

The results are in! 75 Fairbanksans responded to our survey – below is a summary of the results. For the full results, please click here.

Regarding the state’s fiscal gap:

  • 84% of respondents support using part of Permanent Fund earnings to fund state services.
  • 80% support a state income tax.
  • 69% support a motor fuel tax.
  • 68% support decreasing tax credits to the oil industry.
  • 73% are opposed to deeper cuts to the state budget.

71% thought that funding for the University is too low already. 53% thought funding for K-12 education was too low and another 25% thought it was about right. This is before the draconian further cuts to the University and education that the Senate is proposing.

59% support (and only 15% oppose) allowing ride sharing services to operate in Alaska. I’m working on getting my bill that would accomplish this, HB 132 /SB 14, passed this session.

Thanks to everyone who took the survey – I hope the results were informative and/or interesting.

Sincerely,
signed: Adam Wool
