Opportunities to Testify on Oil Tax Reform,
Dear Friends, Neighbors, and fellow Fairbanksans:
Today and tomorrow there are three great opportunities to share your thoughts with the Legislature. To testify on any of these three issues, please go to the Fairbanks Legislative Information Office at 1292 Sadler Way, Suite 308.
This evening, Wednesday March 1, 2017, at 6pm the House Resources Committee will be taking public testimony on HB 111, “OIL AND GAS PRODUCTION TAX; PAYMENTS; CREDITS.” This is your opportunity to weigh in on oil and gas reform measures. You can also email comments to the Resources Committee at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Tomorrow, Thursday March 2 at 1:30pm in the House Transportation Committee, we will be taking public testimony on HB 132, my bill that would allow ride-sharing services like Lyft and Uber to operate in Alaska. (Ride-sharing is now in all 49 other states.) You can also email comments to the House Transportation Committee at email@example.com.
Also tomorrow, Thursday March 2 from 3:45 – 6:00pm the House Finance Committee will be taking Fairbanks area public testimony on HB 57 and HB 59 - the Operating Budget and the Mental Health Budget.
The Operating Budget supports the day to day functions of the state, from schools to road maintenance to public safety. It also includes state funding for the University. The Mental Health Budget provides mental health services and infrastructure throughout Alaska.
