Resolution to Open ANWR Passes Legislature

I am pleased to announce that my first piece of legislation, House Joint Resolution 5, has passed the legislature. Both bodies worked efficiently and swiftly to pass this important piece of legislation urging the US Congress to open the coastal plain of ANWR to exploration and development. I had the pleasure of presenting HJR 5 directly to Senator Sullivan himself to take back to his colleagues in D.C.

With the fiscal crisis our state is facing, the time is NOW to open this area for development.

Indigenous People’s Day Marches On!

Things are moving right along for House Bill 78, the Indigenous People’s Day Bill. It was heard in the Senate Community & Regional Affairs Committee this week and passed right away. It now goes to the Senate State Affairs Committee where it will hopefully have a hearing within the next week or two. I am very pleased with how supportive my colleagues in both bodies have been of this important piece of legislation.
