House of Representatives votes to repeal and replace Senate Bill 91

House Bill 49, which passed 24-to-14, would enact changes that are tough on criminals and give police and prosecutors the tools they need to make Alaska safe. At the same time, the legislation helps victims receive justice and maintains a commitment to enacting policy changes based on objective information, data, and input from police officers, prosecutors, and public defenders.

Rep. Tuck’s Community Connection: The Budget Passes the House and the Children’s Caucus Meets

The legislative session is hitting its high gear as the debate over the state budget moves from the House to the Senate. I cast a yes vote for the budget that came out of the House, but I am aware it’s not perfect. However, it is a good budget. It is the responsible alternative to the unworkable budget proposal put forward by Governor Dunleavy. Now, the next move belongs to the State Senate.
