Rep. Tarr: Voter registration will help Alaskans raise their voices and engage in the political process

ANCHORAGE – Hundreds of voter registration events are planned across the country, including in Anchorage, as part of National Voter Registration Day on Tuesday, September 24.

Volunteers will be encouraging voter registration through one-on-one discussions, social media, traditional media campaigns, and expanded voter registration opportunities.

Rep. Geran Tarr (D-Anchorage) will participate in the following registration events in Airport Heights and Mountain View which aim to help Anchorage residents engage in the political process:

  • 1 to 3 p.m. at Mountain View Red Apple (131 Bragaw Street)
  • 5 to 8 p.m. at Carrs-Safeway in Northway Mall (3101 Penland Parkway)

“One of my greatest passions is getting people excited about public policy, and those conversations begin with Alaskans raising their voices and expressing their opinions through voting,” Representative Tarr said.

Information on registering to vote in Alaska can be found on the Alaska Division of Elections website.
