NEWS: Be Safe with Prescription Drugs

Anchorage – Law enforcement agencies, health care providers, and Fred Meyer stores across Alaska are teaming up to collect unused prescription drugs on Saturday as part of the 15th National Drug Take Back Day. Representative Geran Tarr (D-Anchorage) is urging Alaskans to prevent the abuse and theft of prescription drugs by properly disposing of them at authorized collection sites.

NEWS: Rep. Tarr Honored by the National Conference of State Legislatures

Anchorage – Earlier this month, Representative Geran Tarr (D-Anchorage) became the first Alaskan honored with a “Women In Politics Making a Difference Award” by the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL). Winners were selected for outstanding work in a state legislature by NCSL’s Women’s Legislative Network.

Tarr’s Times: Restorative Justice, Food Policy, Thanks for attending Town Hall

Last weekend dozens of neighbors stopped by the Mountain View Library for lunch and for our annual Fall Constituent Meeting. WE were joined by Captain Case from the Anchorage Police Department, Cathleen McLaughlin from Partners for Progress, George Martinez from the Office of Mayor Berkowitz, Beth Nordlund from the Anchorage Parks Foundation, and Mr. C from the Mountain View Boys and Girls Club. After a public safety update, our conversation shifted to youth programming- and the dozen of young people who attended our meeting got a chance to step outside of the group, talk with my staff, and together, they organized a list of activities they’d like to see in the district!
