Kodiak Residents Invited to Engage Legislators and Administration Officials at Community Forum
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 22, 2017
Kodiak – Representative Louise Stutes (R-Kodiak) will host fellow members of the Alaska House of Representatives and members of Governor Walker’s administration for a community forum at the Kodiak Convention Center on Thursday, August 24th, from 6-8 PM.
“I think it is important for our legislators to see firsthand some of the issues facing our rural communities,” said Rep. Stutes. “Rural Alaskans have needs that are not apparent in urban communities on the road system—the need for a robust Alaska Marine Highway System is a prime example. Kodiak is excited to host legislators from other parts of Alaska to give them a firsthand look at some of the economic and social contributions Kodiak offers our state.”
Representative Stutes will be joined by Speaker of the House Bryce Edgmon (D-Dillingham), Rep. Zach Fansler (D-Bethel), Rep. Chuck Kopp (R-Anchorage), Rep. Dan Ortiz (I-Ketchikan), Rep. Geran Tarr (D-Anchorage), and Rep. Adam Wool (D-Fairbanks). Joining the legislators will be Alaska Gasline Development Corporation President Keith Meyer, Director of the Office of Management and Budget Pat Pitney, and the Governor’s Deputy Chief of Staff John Hozey.
Legislators and administration officials will listen to feedback and answer questions from the audience at Thursday’s community forum, which is free and open to the public.
