Legislative Update: A Message from Rep. Harriet Drummond

I am back at the Capitol to serve as your representative in the 31st Alaska Legislature. Things are off to an unusual start this year because no single legislator has yet been able to muster up the minimum 21 votes required to elect a Speaker of the House. Until this happens, many functions of the House, such as the introduction of bills and committee assignments, cannot take place.

Speak Up for School Safety – A Message from Rep. Harriet Drummond

It has been an exciting week for me as I have seen years of work come to fruition when two pieces of legislation I sponsored were signed into law:
Bree’s Law -Teen Dating Violence Prevention Education
On Wednesday Governor Walker signed House Bill 214 to name Alaska’s teen dating violence awareness and prevention program after Bree Moore who was killed in a senseless act of dating violence in 2014.
