JUNEAU – Today, Representative Geran Tarr (D-Anchorage), Representative Beth Kerttula (D-Juneau), and Representative Harriet Drummond (D-Anchorage) pre-filed legislation to ensure Alaskan mothers have the time and a safe place to breastfeed or express milk while at work. JUNEAU – Today, Representative Harriet Drummond pre-filed legislation to ban a class of pesticides that harm bee populations local agriculture businesses depend on to pollinate berries and other crops. The legislation (HB224) aims to prevent the introduction of these pesticides before they impact Alaskan agriculture as they have in the Lower 48 and around the world.

Reduction for Production: Bill Targets New Oil in the Pipe and Protects Alaska

JUNEAU – House and Senate Democratic legislators introduced legislation today to grant tax concessions to oil producers who put new oil into the pipeline. The bill (SB50, HB 111) targets tax incentives to new fields and to new development in existing fields, and it offers other incentives outside the tax code to spark new development.
