NEWS: Lawmakers Comment on Management Changes at the Alaska Psychiatric Institute

Juneau – Earlier today, the Commissioner of the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services, Adam Crum, announced that he was taking over the day to day management of the Alaska Psychiatric Institute (API) in Anchorage, which is Alaska’s only psychiatric hospital. Commissioner Crum has contracted with a private health care company to provide administrative support and leadership for the hospital.

Coalition to Hold State of State Press Availability Tuesday Night

Juneau – State Representatives with the Alaska House Coalition will hold a press availability Tuesday night following the annual State of the State Address from Governor Michael J. Dunleavy. Participants will include Rep. Bryce Edgmon (D-Dillingham), Rep. Chris Tuck (D-Anchorage), Rep. Neal Foster (D-Nome), and Rep. Louise Stutes (R-Kodiak).

NEWS: Rep. Claman Chosen as the New Chair of the Alaska Criminal Justice Commission

Anchorage – Today, Representative Matt Claman (D-Anchorage) was chosen as the new Chairman of the Alaska Criminal Justice Commission. Rep. Claman takes over for Greg Razo who serves as the Vice President for Government Relations with the regional native corporation CIRI. Razo will continue to serve on the commission in a seat reserved for a representative from the Alaska Native community. Rep. Claman has served as a non-voting member of the 13-member commission since 2017.
