Rep. Tuck’s Newsletter: Alaska Loses a Valued Family Member

I am deeply saddened to report that on Sunday morning my friend, Representative Max Gruenberg, House minority Whip and the longest serving legislator in the Alaska House of Representatives, passed away unexpectedly. With Max's passing, we lost a family member and a mentor who legislators sought out for support and advice regardless of what party they belonged to. He was the guardian of a dying flame, keeping the spirit of a younger Alaska alive by always putting the needs of the Alaskan people before political gamesmanship.

Rep. Tuck’s Newsletter: Start of Session Report and Final Chance to Answer My Fiscal Policy Survey

Yesterday we began the second session of the 29th Alaska Legislature here at our State Capitol in Juneau. As I am sure you are aware, Alaska’s troublesome fiscal situation has overshadowed many other serious concerns, and my colleagues and I in the Alaska Independent Democratic Coalition are hard at work to find solutions to the crisis that are fair to regular Alaskans and protect our most vulnerable citizens.

My staff and I have just finished preparing our computers, files, and other essential materials for shipment to Juneau for the second session of the 29th Alaska Legislature. My office in the Alaska Capitol will soon be fully operational and I will be working hard to stay in touch with everyone back home so I can best represent you as I wrestle with the tough decisions of the day.
