Last month the 4th annual Food Film Festival was held and hundreds attended showings of GMO: OMG. I was proud to play a part in this year’s festival and share information about the GMO labeling legislation. The support for this legislation is fantastic! Thank you to ACE, the Alaska Food Policy Council, and Bear Tooth for hosting this important event.See More
Welcome to the first edition of Health and Environment, a new monthly newsletter from my legislative office. Many of us or members of our families have experienced health issues, from cancer, reproductive health issues, behavioral issues like autism or ADHD, or conditions like Alzheimer’s, that may be linked to environmental causes. New research reports regularly help us understand these conditions in new ways, often with a need for a policy change to address the issue and improve health outcomes. This newsletter will be a way to share information and bring you into the conversation about policy changes that may be necessary in Alaska.See More
Please find, linked below, three documents related to the work of the Northern Access Work Group. The meeting notes from the first two meetings contain the action items that require follow up. The first follow up report contains an answer to the question of the legality of the 2003 U-Med Plan. Look for other follow up reports to come.See More

It’s wonderful to be home! It’s hard to believe that it’s been a month since the legislative session adjourned. While the legislative session ended on April 14th, I didn’t arrive back to Anchorage for another couple of weeks because I rushed off to Prince Edward Island, Canada.See More
