PUBLIC TESTIMONY THIS WEEK:
HB 115: Education Funding Act-
In my last newsletter, I spoke of HB 115: Education Funding Act passing out of the House last weekend. It is now in the Senate and will be heard in the Senate Labor and Commerce Committee. I know many of you have already testified in the House regarding HB 115, but it is important that the Senate hear your voice too. Please speak out and let the Senate hear your thoughts, ideas, or concerns. Here are your opportunities to do so:
- Tuesday, April 25th, 2017- 5 pm
- Wednesday, April 26th, 2017- 5 pm
- Thursday, April 27th, 2017- 5pm
HB 74: Driver’s License & ID Cards & Real ID Act-
There will also be public testimony in House Finance on HB 74: Driver’s License & ID Cards & Real ID Act. HB 74 is the Governor’s bill to address compliance with the federal REAL ID requirements. Starting June 6, 2017 Alaskans will need a REAL ID or passport to enter a military base. Starting June 22nd, 2018, a REAL ID or passport will be required to fly domestically. Let us know your thoughts, we are ready to listen. Testimony will be:

Arrive at the Fairbanks Legislative Information Office 15 minutes before the end of the allotted time period for testimony. Please sign in at the LIO no later than 6:30 pm.

WRITE: For written testimony for HB 115, send an e-mail to the Chair of Senate Labor & Commerce, Senator Mia Costello and her committee aide, Weston Eiler. Make sure to mention that you would like to include your statement for public testimony in your e-mail.
For HB 74, send your e-mail to the House Finance Committee.
