Want to Volunteer To Help A Child?
You can be a Volunteer Mentor to help a child, through a program we worked with foster care advocates to start, at Big Brothers, Big Sisters. Just call 433-4691. Have the time to do more? Alaska has a major shortage of foster and adoptive parents, and you can help change a life by doing that. To ask about foster parenting or adopting a child out of foster care call 1-800-478-7307.
Dear Friends and Neighbors:
This is a big election. It’s Tuesday, but you can also vote early. Call 522-8683 for your Tuesday or Early Voting location. You can also visit the State of Alaska Division of Elections Website to find an Early Voting Location.
Early voters get these great Pat Race stickers. I’m voting this weekend to get one!
Care about Education? Our Seniors and kids? Our future? That will all be decided in close legislative races, and what polls say are very close Governors and Congressional races.
And what’s known as the Stand for Salmon Initiative, Ballot Measure 1, will be on the ballot too. You’ve heard about that from roughly $15 million in spending by opponent groups and a bit less from supporting groups, which have spent roughly $2 million. Go to their websites, and google articles to get informed there!
That’s all. Hope to see you in the neighborhood soon!
