Dear Friends and Neighbors,

The legislative session has gone into overtime, and it is not clear when legislators will be able to return to their home districts. Getting home on time would have meant agreeing to a budget deal that would not be fair for regular Alaskans, so I am holding fast to protect the people back home.

Today the Alaska Legislature honored Dee Dee Jonrowe for her historic Iditarod career and inspiring life story.

In the meantime, I am continuing my work as chair of the House Education Committee to keep moving forward on issues that are critical to the future of our children.

On Monday, April 30, at 8:00 am the committee will be taking public testimony on HR 7, a resolution to keep school safety at the forefront of policy efforts.

Please consider offering testimony and sharing your thoughts about school safety. We need to hear from you!

What: Public Testimony on HR 7 – Supporting a Safe School Environment

When: Monday, April 30, 2018 at 8:00 am
Where: People in Anchorage can go to the Anchorage Legislative Information Office at 1500 W. Benson Boulevard
