Rep. Josephson’s Newsletter: Public Testimony Scheduled

This week the House Finance committee will be holding public testimony on the State Operating Budget. Anchorage has its own time slot and day scheduled so if you have any concerns this will be your chance to be heard. Are you’re concerned about the projected cuts to public education ($23.3 million); cuts to the University budget (about $35 million); the exclusion of Medicaid Expansion; the closure of the Wildland Fire Academy in McGrath; or any other department cuts (or non-cuts)? We want to hear from you!

Rep. Tarr’s Newsletter: Update on Anchorage Caucus, Legalized Marijuana, and Gas Line Projects

A quick reminder for the Anchorage Caucus this weekend from 1:00-4:00 pm at the Assembly Chambers at Loussac Library. With massive budget cuts this year and the Republicans blocking Medicaid expansion we really need to hear from the public about priorities. Also, please mark your calendar for our mid-session Constituent Meeting coming up Saturday, March 7th from 1:00 – 3:00 pm at the Mountain View Boys and Girls Club. We’ll have drinks and snacks! This constituent event is a great chance to touch base with Senator Ellis and myself to ask questions, share important issues, etc. We’d love to see you there!
