It is truly a privilege to represent you in District 24. As the snow finally looks like it’s here to stay, I wanted to provide an update on projects happening in my office during the interim months and take the time to express my deep gratitude for the blessings we enjoy. While we are not currently in session, we have been steadily working to ensure progress towards improving education opportunities, strengthening public safety, promoting a healthy business environment, and protecting your property rights.
Alaska is a military state. Because of our strategic location, the federal government continues to invest millions of dollars every year in bases and other infrastructure. Alaska is also a military state because we are home to more veterans per capita than any other state in the nation. In many ways, Alaska’s economy is shaped by the thousands of soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, Coast Guardsmen, veterans, and their families who call Alaska home. That’s why I have sponsored legislation to help military families in Alaska.
As we congregate with friends, family, and good food on Thursday, let’s remind one another of all we have to be grateful for. May we also be mindful of those in need and take time to share a smile and lend a helping hand. I hope you enjoy a wonderful holiday weekend!
This week is Thanksgiving and as we transition into this holiday season I hope we are reminded of all the reasons for being grateful. I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve and to work for our community. Thank you!
