Rep. Guttenberg’s Newsletter: Reaction to President Trump’s executive order

Just days ago, President Trump issued an executive order severely restricting immigration from seven Muslim majority countries, freezing refugee admission for 120 days, and indefinitely barringall Syrian refugees. While walking up the capitol steps this morning, I was greeted by a large group of protestors. They were rightfully upset at the executive order and implored me to “do something!” about it.

NEWS: Sen. Gardner and Rep. Josephson Introduce Companion Bills Requiring Disclosure of Oil Tax Subsidy Information

JUNEAU - Today, Senate Democratic Leader Berta Gardner (D-Anchorage), and House Resources Committee Co-Chair Rep. Andy Josephson (D-Anchorage) introduced SB44 and HB99, allowing the state to release to the public critical information about our investments in the form of oil tax credits. With passage of the legislation, companies filing for credits would provide a basic description, overall purpose, and general location of these expenses as a condition of participation in our generous credit program.
